The Nonspatial Continuum is a series of modernist assemblages exploring function and movement. Bathed in stark lighting, the all-white arrangements become seemingly weightless, taking on an other-worldly affect.
By obfuscating dimension and scale, I aim to build environments that imply mechanical function, yet defy it.
There is an inherent tension in physical balance, giving a sense of impending movement. A perfectly balanced marble - impeccably static. The viewer is tempted to choose. Is it a moment frozen in time? or is it the instant prior to setting off a chain of events? Each image presents a series of constantly shifting paradoxes.
